Alison Mazzatelli is the Center Manager and a treating physical therapist at Brielle Orthopedics Physical Therapy located at 457 Jack Martin Boulevard in Brick and managed by NovaCare Rehabilitation. As an integral part of the NovaCare team, Alison has honed her skills in the rehabilitative process with hands-on techniques and the development of individualized exercise programs. Her expertise is especially evident in the treatment of orthopedic related injuries, total joint replacements, and neurological conditions stemming from the residual deficits of CVA. Alison places a strong emphasis on educating her patients in proper body mechanics to avoid re-injury and is an advocate for self-care management.

In 2004 Alison earned her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Richard Stockton College, Pomona, New Jersey and in 2009 graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Complementing her clinical expertise in both outpatient and home care settings, Alison has completed a number of continuing education courses including, Healthcare in the 21st Century, Current Trends in Osteoarthritis, and Physical Therapy Imaging and Diagnostics, and has attended the Cincinnati Sports Medicine Conference. Alison is also certified in the Graston Technique, an advanced method to decrease pain in increase function. In addition, she is certified to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations.

Elizabeth Conway, MPT

Total Clinical Experience: 9 Years

Elizabeth Conway is a Physical Therapist at Brielle Orthopedics Physical Therapy located at 457 Jack Martin Boulevard in Brick and managed by NovaCare Rehabilitation. A seasoned clinician in the outpatient environment, Elizabeth treats a broad spectrum of orthopedic injuries and post-surgical interventions. An athlete and former Lifeguard Captain, Elizabeth is well acquainted with the pathology of sports injuries and is skilled in the rehabilitation of shoulder, knee and spinal conditions.

Elizabeth began her career in physical therapy in 2003, learning the business from the ground up as a physical therapy aide, assistant strength coach, and educational instructor in her chosen field. A graduate of The College of New Jersey in Ewing, Elizabeth obtained her Bachelor of Science, Health and Exercise Science, cum laude. In 2006, Elizabeth earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Richard Stockton College in Pomona, New Jersey and she is currently pursuing her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stockton. Elizabeth has likewise participated in a number of continuing education courses including Knee Update, Shoulder Update, Spinal Extremity-Joint Mobilization, New Horizons in Management of the Athlete, and Advanced Treatment of the Lower Quarter in Runners. She is also certified in The Graston® Technique, an advanced method of soft tissue mobilization to decrease pain and increase function for scar management. Elizabeth has been trained in Ergoscience Functional Capacity Evaluation. She is also certified by the American Red Cross in CPR and AED.

Rose Marie Gallagher-Burns, PT

Rose Marie Burns is a Physical Therapist at Brielle Orthopedics Physical Therapy located at 457 Jack Martin Boulevard in Brick and Managed by NovaCare Rehabilitation. A clinical veteran with 30 years’ experience in the field, Rose Marie is a highly respected member of the NovaCare team and has garnered a wealth of knowledge from her lifetime of exemplarily patient care. Her areas of expertise include orthopedics, spine, sports medicine and sports related injuries, women’s health, aquatics, TMJ, craniofacial, migraine treatments, upper extremity and hand injuries, geriatrics, pediatrics, lymphedema and chest/pulmonary physical therapy. In her chosen profession, Rose Marie sets and achieves her personal vision of excellence as she shares her passion for life-long learning with her patients through comprehensive patient education and guidance on the way to a successful recovery.

Rose Marie is a 1985 alumna of the University of Scranton, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Throughout the years she has complemented her clinical expertise with a an extensive roster of continuing education courses including Sports Related Injuries of Young Adults, Shoulder Disorders Diagnosis Management and Evidence Based Treatment, Evidence Based Assessment for Fall Intervention, Advanced Pain Assessment-Medical Screening and Biomechanical Differential Diagnosis, and Upper Quadrant Evaluation and Muscle Energy Techniques to name just a few. A distinguished member of the rehabilitation community, Rose Marie maintains a high patient care/satisfaction and recovery rate. You can find Rose Marie listed in Who’s Who of Professionals in Physical Therapy.

Kelly Haspel, PT, DPT

Kelly Haspel is a welcomed new member of the NovaCare clinical team and joins us at Brielle Orthopedics Physical Therapy with enthusiasm and demonstrated skills in the rehabilitation of a variety of orthopedic injuries and conditions. She has a special interest in total joint replacements. Working with patients from start to finish…getting them prepared with a prehab program and post operatively getting them back to what they enjoy most.

Mark Asta, DPT

Marc Asta joins us at Brielle Orthopedics Physical Therapy with a unique set of interpersonal skills, clinical and evidence-based practice and a distinctive mentality to help each patient overcome hardships. As a true team player, Marc believes that the best outcomes are delivered by a team approach to create an exceptional patient rehabilitative experience. His goal is always to help every patient achieve their goals.

William Joseph Harrer, OTR/L, CHT

Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist
Total Clinical Experience: 13 years

Joseph Harrer is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist at Brielle Orthopedics Physical Therapy located at 457 Jack Martin Boulevard in Brick and managed by NovaCare Rehabilitation. As a valued member of the NovaCare team, Joe is skilled in the treatment of a multitude of elbow, hand, wrist and digit maladies including fractures, lacerations, brachial plexus injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, DeQuervain’s tendonitis, lateral and medial epicondylitis, amputations and Dupuytren’s disease.

Joe received his Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2000, and earned Certified Hand Therapist status in 2007. Since that time he has complemented his clinical expertise with ongoing educational programs such as Current Trends in Flexor and Extensor Tendon Injuries, Therapeutic Management of Acute Trauma of the Hand, Evaluation and Treatment of the Brachial Plexopathy Patient Using Neural Mobilization, and Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Hand with Emphasis on the Wrist. Along with daily patient care, Joe is actively instructing various levels of Occupational Therapy students in the evaluation and treatment of Upper Extremity orthopedics.

“My approach to hand therapy starts with a thorough evaluation of each patient, and creating a personalized treatment program based on that person’s needs. I believe that patient involvement is critical in the rehabilitative process. My treatment, coupled with patient education and a solid home exercise program achieves functional results.
